Identifying and Sorting Change Worksheets
Identifying and Sorting Change Worksheets
Welcome to our Identifying and Sorting Change worksheets!
We live in societies where we trade money for goods and services, so learning consumer math and the value of money is essential for life in the real world. The first step is to be able to identify coins: pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars (although half dollars are rarely used) and know their values.
The purpose of these worksheets is to help students recognize common US coins and understand their values. Students will write the names of the coins, identify coins, make change, sort and count coins, and list the amount of change in the jars from least to greatest. We also offer a sheet of coins for students to cut out and organize on the sorting mat provided.
We encourage you to pull out some real coins you have laying around and laminate our sorting mat for your student to practice sorting coins so they can familiarize themselves with real coins! Be sure to also check out our ‘Counting Coins Worksheets’!
